Staying with Han's family for the past 3 days have just been wonderful! They have truly been hospitable and have opened up my eyes to so many different experiences. I've enjoyed everything and have learnt so much from this experience - from waking up early to work in the farm with the gorgeous mountains as backdrop, to the delicious meals every morning, afternoon and night, and also the joy of having had the opportunity to play with the delightful children! Not only is the farm beautiful, the fruits and vegetables harvested are asolutely delicious! I will always recall picking the small tomatoes and eating them fresh after a long day's work. Also, I now know that working in a farm is no easy job - it takes patience to plant, to weed, to harvest, and so much more, and I truly respect this family for that.
After two days of helping out with farming and spring cleaning, my friend and I went around Gwanghwa to visit the places that our hosts have so kindly recommended. It was not very easy finding our way around, but we did, and boy did we enjoy the sights and the confusing korean-english simple conversations with various locals!
I feel very lucky to have found such a welcoming, delightful family in a countryside so beautiful, and I will always keep this experience and the memories close to my heart (:
